We “GROW OUR OWN” via our AWARD-WINNING APPRENTICESHIP program, which integrates “on the job” specialized training and development, together with off-site job-related college level courses, paid by Bekum.
Program graduates must earn 59 college credits (all class room and material expenses fully covered) and are required to work 8000 hours at Bekum in our structured program. Upon successful completion of the estimated 4-year program, our apprenticeship graduates are issued a Journeymen’s certificate by the US Department of Labor. We strongly recommend you take advantage of our tuition assistance program and obtain your Associate’s Degree (just a few credits more). Our manufacturing skilled trades apprenticeship positions include:
Apprentice Testimonial:
“Growing up, I was familiar with machine tools, and in my Junior year of High School, I heard about BEKUM’s apprenticeship program while attending the Capital Area Career Center. The opportunity of a FREE education with no debt appealed to me. I was able to start my adult life with a stable income and even bought my first house at the age of 20. It was an awesome opportunity!”
Glen H., Machinist (Glen was one of the first graduating apprentices in the program ~ 2000)

Apprentice Testimonial:
“My Grandpa was a skilled tradesman-machinist and being around him inspired me to choose a skilled trades career path. During an 8th grade field trip to the Capital Area Career Center, I became interested in attending CACC for the welding/fabrication training, and in my senior year, I heard about BEKUM’s Apprenticeship Program. Learning a skilled trade presented a good opportunity and combined with a FREE education with no student debt was a BIG bonus. Fresh out of High School, the apprenticeship program was a good choice!”
Tober W. (Fabrication/Welder)
“The electrical apprenticeship program was being offered and it appealed to me. This year, I will receive a Journeyman’s certificate from the US Department of Labor, and graduate with no college debt.”
